OXFAM and LASPNET in partnership with Strategic Link (SL) convened a two days Inception and Kick off meeting with the overall objective of orienting the new Voice grantees on the Voice policies and procedures as well as the Linking and Learning project activities. VOICE GRANTEES AND RIGHTS HOLDERS MEET AND EXCHANGE IDEAS TO STRENGTHEN THEIR RIGHTS HOLDER’S COMMUNITY WORK AT THE ANNUAL LINKING AND LEARNING EVENT 2022

OXFAM and LASPNET in partnership with Strategic Link (SL) convened a two days Annual Linking and Learning Event which was held at Country Lake Resort – Garuga, from 29th to 30th November 2022. The meeting which was anchored under the new grant project titled ‘Voice(s) Connected & Amplified: Linking & Learning Facilitation’ with the overall objective of the event was to share experiences, facilitate and enhance shared learning and promising approaches of work among grantees and rights holders.   It was attended by a total number of 44 participants including Grantees; rights holders; VOICE/OXFAM representative, external experts, Strategic Link and LASPNET facilitators.

LASPNET’S GRAND LAUNCH OF THE GBV AWARENESS DAY IN BUIKWE

LASPNET with support from European Union convened the grand launch of the GBV Annual Awareness Days which begun in Buikwe district at Mehta grounds in Lugazi on 19th May 2022. The Awareness Day was part of the interventions under the EU supported two-year (2020-2022) project titled “Empowering formal and informal justice systems to respond and handle Gender-based Violence (GBV) in the districts of Mukono, Kayunga and Buikwe.”

ABOUT LASPNET

The Legal Aid Service Providers Network (LASPNET) is a national member NGO established in 2004 to provide strategic linkages and a collaboration framework for the Legal Aid Service Providers and maintain a common front to interface with various actors in the Justice, Law and Order Sector in Uganda. It targets three critical aspects of coordination: a collective role bringing together different LASPs for solidarity in strategizing, sharing lessons and experiences, while minimizing duplication; capacitating them through collaborative research and analysis ; as well as documenting, providing needed feedback, and amplifying voice on key issues regarding access to justice/legal aid at regional, national or international level.
