LAP seeks to To improve the professional standards of its members and to promote respect for Human Rights, the Rule of
Law and Access to Justice.
It envisions a Ugandan society where all Human Rights are respected, promoted and defended to ensure access to justice
for all is a reality irrespective of gender, age, ethnicity, and religion or socio-economic status.

» Objectives
1. To provide high quality legal aid services to indigent men, women and children
2. To promote the respect for rights and the rule of law in Uganda
3. To lobby and advocate for legislation and policies which act in favour of the poor at national, district and lower levels.
4. To develop and strengthen management systems as well as the general organizational development of LAP
5. To strengthen the governance of LAP in order to ensure good strategic leadership and direction by the Board of
Trustees of the Legal Aid Project
6. To build mechanisms and aggressively mobilize resources to ensure financial sustainability of Legal Aid services
in Uganda
